FREE TUITION PROGRAMME

Our Free Tuition Programme currently serves more than 70 students ranging from Primary 1 to Secondary 4 from Jurong, Yuhua and Bukit Batok area. These students are taught by our volunteer tutors on either a one to one or one to two pairing.

Despite classes still remaining online due to the onset of COVID-19, the students and tutors both adapted well to the use of zoom and online worksheets to teach and guide the students. This allows students to receive academic help from the comfort of their own home and provides an external support for the students in terms of their studies.

Loving Heart (Jurong) worked with NTU Volunteer Movement | Welfare Services to organise a two-day online camp, during the December Holidays, teaching the kids about financial literacy through fun and engaging activities and games. Despite the camp being online, children were actively participating in the many games planned for them and also had fun interacting with their peers while being at home.

Our children also learnt about how they could use old daily objects to create new ones using the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Children even learned to use a leftover toilet roll to make an owl keychain!
